The Burundi Head of State, Pierre Nkurunziza, has replaced two members of the Cabinet on March, 17, 2006. Brigadier General Evariste Ndayishimiye has been appointed Minister of Interior and Public Security replacing Salvator Ntacobamaze.

The Member of Parliament Kamana Venant has replaced Joseph Ntakarutimana in the Ministry of Good Governance and general inspection of the State.

The reason behind this cabinet reshuffle is not yet known but the replaced ministers have been appointed to other high political positions. Joseph Ntakarutimana has been appointed ambassador in New York and Salvator Ntacobamaze is appointed Head of the State protocol .

The two outgoing and the new ministers are both members of Cndd- Fdd party.
