Two detainees, Ngendakumana Valentin and Rihanzamaso Paul, died et the prison of Ngozi on Tuesday the 21st March, following diseases.

The first prisoner, Ngendakumana Valentin, a 42 year old man old was from Burengo in the commune of Matongo of the province of Kayanza. The second detainee, Rihanzamaso Paul, is an 83 years old man who was living at Mataka in the commune and province of Kirundo.

Ngendakumana, accused of armed robbery had been arrested on July 17, 2005 and was sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment. The second detainee, accused of cannibalism was arrested on January 6, 2006.
