Some district advisors of the urban commune of Cibitoke denounce corruption observed in the trade of sugar.
On Mach 27, 2006 some advisors of district and sugar tradesmen of the urban commune of Cibitoke demonstrated in front of the offices of the aforementioned commune to denounce the cases of cheating and corruption practised by the heads of districts 1, 2 and 3: Nicitegeka Egide, Ndihokubwayo Perpetue and Bararusambira Prime.
According to the president of the communal council of Cibitoke, Kamwenubusa Jean Claude, these three chiefs of districts collect money from tradesmen of sugar at a price of BiF 35.000 francs per bag but buy it at BiF34.370 from the wholesalers. They then take he difference for themselves. Moreover, any tradesman who wants to be supplied with ten bags of sugar, has to give them BiF 20.000 as corruption.
