A grenade exploded near the central market of Bujumbura killing one person and injuring two others.
A grenade exploded in the bus park of the central market of Bujumbura in the evening June 22, 2006 around 8 pm, causing a lot of casualties. One person died right away and two others died in the hospital where they had been rushed in a critical situation. Two buses were slightly damaged.
The salesmen who sell some articles close to the place of the crime suspected one of their colleagues called Andrew to have committed the crime. The reason behind the crime is that the criminal wanted to kill one of the salesmen of the place, Kaneza Celcius, because he sells more than him.
The plan of the criminal turned otherwise. To avoid being suspected, the perpetrator of the crime left the place of the crime after having dissimulated a grenade. He had left a young boy to look after his articles and had himself to leave the place as soon as the targeted person arrives. The grenade exploded before the young boy left, killing him and seriously wounded two others and slightly injuring Kaneza, the person who was targeted.
The next day morning, Andrew came at the bus bus park of the cetral market as usually. When other salesmen saw him, they went to call the police but Andrew fled before they arrived.
