Early morning of July 24, 2006, the police arrested at Musenyi in Mpanda commune of Bubanza province some persons suspected of being militants of the Palipehutu- Fnl armed movement. Some 107 persons who had no identity cards have been arrested.

Among them, 27 women and girls were soon released but arrested men had to wait until the local administrative authorities arrived to identify those who are not residents of the place.

It has also been reported that a great quantity of local prohibited alcoholic drinks like the “Kanyanga “was seized. It seems that some of the sellers of that drink poured it down on the ground before the police arrived.
