A group of criminals killed a soldier of the military position of Jarama , in Buhinyuza commune, Muyinga province on Friday August 25th, 2006.

The following day, the soldiers of the same position made a patrol in order to arrest the criminals and get back the stolen military equipment of the victim such as the rifle, the beret as well as the belt.

These soldiers arrested some people suspected of being close to these criminals among whom the head of the zone Jarama, Felix, the head of the health center of Rugongo, Egide Barahinduka, Mohamed Bakanibona, the chief of Ruvumu locality, Minani Lazard and a demobilized combattant, Karerangabo Olivier.

The two first arrested persons were transferred in the dungeon of the police station of Muyinga while the others are still held in the dungeon of the police station of Buhinyuza.

It is worth mentionning that several people fled their homes and took refuge in neighbouring localities. Furthermore, doors of some houses have been smashed by the same soldiers.
