Two car accidents happened on Sunday September 3, 06 killing 6 persons and wounding several others. The first accident happened on the road Bujumbura-Rumonge in Bujumbura rural province and the second on the road Kayanza- Ngozi.

The accident which occurred in Magara zone in the commune of Bugarama, Bujumbura rural province caused the death of one person and more than fifty others wounded. The other accident which took place at Kavumu in the zone of Kabuye in commune and province of Kayanza, caused the death of 5 persons and 7 others seriously wounded.

The vehicles which made the accident in Magara zone were carrying militants of the Cndd-Fdd party who were going to Bujumbura for the commemoration of the first anniversary of their party.

The vehicle which made the accident at Kavumu was also carrying militants of the same party who were back from Bujumbura for he same festival. It is the over speed which was at the origin of these two accidents.
