The perpetrators of the slaughtering of the 16 persons, whose bodies were found in Ruzizi river are still unknown.

Around 16 human bodies have been found in the Ruzizi river and then have been buried and none has been able to identify them. The perpetrators of the crime are still unknown but the Palipehutu-FNL armed movement and the governmental Army accuse each other to be responsible for this cruel crime. Lieutenant colonel Adolphe Manirakiza (Army) blames the FNL, which, he says, kills some of its own members, especially the newly recruited. However, the FNL’s spokesman, Pasteur Habimana, rejects all the accusations.

The minister of internal affairs and public security Evariste Ndayshimye stated that it is difficult to investigate on the identities of the victims since none has reported that there is any of their families has disappeared.

Saturday night, 18th November 06 around 3am a man who is not yet identified was shot down in Muyaga quarter, in Gihosha commune. According to nearby pople the man has been stopped by police officers who where on duty but he refused to stop. He rather attempted to ran away but the policemen shot at him. He was suspected to be a thief.

Friday night, 17th November 06 a policeman was disarmed and shot dead by unknown persons around 7.30pm in Nyabagere quarter in Gihosha commune. He was working in Cibitoke commune and assumingly became the victim of armed robbery. Police has arrested 4 people, among them 2 women, which however have been released after.
