In the morning hours of 10th December 2006 ,a single mother abandoned her newborn baby to the bush. The mother, Nyabenda Léocadie, is 40 years old and lives with her parents on Buye hill in Nyamurenza commune,Ngozi province.

The baby has been devoured by dogs, so that the next day bypassing people only discovered the rest of the child: its head. The police already did investigations and the mother was arrested and brought to the communal prison of Nyamurenza.

The unwed mother already gave birth to 5 other children while still living with her parents.
