Two criminals armed with rifles in civil uniforms shot at Kabura Alexandre at his residence in Kayogoro zone,Mabanda commune in Makamba province on January17th, 2007. They also seriously wounded his wife and stole an important amount of money and a computer.

Before smashing the door, they first shot in the air to intimidate the neighbours in order to prevent them from intervening. Once inside the house, they shot at the head of the family and then threatened his woman not to shout preventing her from alerting the neighbours.

The police and the administration have started investigations to identify these criminals.

Let’s mention that another armed attack had taken place in the same locality on December 29, 2006 in the residence of Nibasumba where they stole a sum of BiF 140.000. Two suspected persons were arrested by the police and are undergoing interrogations. Other many cases of armed robberies were reported in Nyanza-Lake, especially in the zone of Muyange.

Between December 22, 2006 and January 5, 2007, these repetitive robberries caused the death of two people among whom Ndayizeye, a palm oil tradesman.
