On January 26, 2007, a police officer of the SOGEMAC, Managing company of the Central Market of Bujumbura, tortured a saleswoman of fritters and tea around the central market of Bujumbura. He knocks her with his bludgeon on her belly whereas the woman was pregnant. The women was accused of selling her goods in unauthorized places.

The victim, Nshimirimana Dina, went directly to the dispensary for medical treatment and they advised her to have an ichnography. As she had not enough means for the medical charges, the project of Iteka League for the assistance of women and children victims of violence is now assisting her.
