Iteka League organized from the 22nd to 23rd February, 2007 in Bujumbura a workshop for its observers and social agents of victims of rape . The aim of this workshop was to build their capacities within the framework of the project of fight against violence made to women and to children financed by the Swiss co-operation in Burundi.
In his opening speech, the deputy executive secretary in charge of information of League Iteka, thanked USAID which, via SFCG(Search for Common Ground), financed the project VOT(Victims of torture). He also thanked the Swiss co-operation in Burundi which, alarmed by the phenomenon of rapes and violence made to women and to children, gave a financial support to League teka to contribute to the fight against these violations
This workshop gathered 15 observers of the project VOT financed by SFCG and 10 social agents of the project funded by the Swiss co-operation. The participants had the opportunity to shared their experience and to reinforce their knowledge which will help them to improve their psychosocial and legal assistance. They also approached the techniques of counselling.
