The national police proceeded to a searching at the university of Burundi (campus of Mutanga) in the morning of Wednesday March 14, 2007. The police officers held up search warrants on which was indicated the goal of the operation, which was to search fire weapons held by students and seek people who were not in order.
After having encircled the campus, the policemen searched in all rooms and two military uniforms, one police uniform, 3 grenades, a bayonet and a cartridge were seized in various rooms. Their occupants were apprehended and led to the police station for interrogation.
Some of the students acknowledged that they were about to join the Palipehutu-Fnl movement which is about to enter the government and other political bodies.
