Heavily armed men were seen heading to the Kibira forest of Nyungwe on Sunday night.
A heavily armed group of combatants which were heading to the Kibira forest of Nyungwe in the province of Cibitoke from the Buvyuko zone in the commune of Bubanza have been seen Sunday on March 18, 07 at night by patrolling police. These men were estimated at more or less 100 elements and had heavy weapons, including rockets launcher. The police think that these combatants may be combatants of the palipehutu-Fnl of Gatayeri, but others say that it is too early to say who they are.
It is also reported that the population of Muramba has been repeatedly victims of armed robberies the week before by unidentified armed elements. There were also people who were sensitizing the population and recruiing new combatants.
Recruitments and military training are reported to take place at Karinzi and at its surroundings nearby the town centre of Bubanza. Some nearby inhabitants think there may be some new movements who are being born and it is not either excluded that the seen armed groups which were moving to the Kibira are not combatants of new movements.
