Five armed bandits were shot dead by the police in the Industrial district of Bujumbura
The police has killed five armed bandits who were going to burglarise in a factory of mattress, EXIM, located in the industrial District in the urban commune of Rohero. It was in the night of March 27 around 8: 30. when these robbers who had came in a Land cruser Jeep wanted to enter this factory. The police who were informed were around and they opened fire on them killing all the five bandits. Another person who was outside watching for these gangsters has also been arrested.
One of these robbers, Pasteur Bavugubusa, was a police officer and was one of the guards of the Minister of Justice, Clotilde Niragira. Two others, Emmanuel Rivuzimana and Nahimana were respectively former police officer of the Special Police of Investigation for the first and navy officer of Gakumbu military camp for the late. Emmanuel Rivuzimana had been just released under obscure conditions from the prison of Mpimba where he was held, accused of armed robbery. Two other robbers civilians.
Let’s mention that most of the perpetrators of most of the ambushes and armed robberies are retired soldiers and policemen or ex- rebels and combatants of armed movements.
