Gangsters armed with rifles and grenades ambushed a transport vehicle belonging to a tradesman named Justin in the evening of June 13th , 2007 towards 7: 30 on the road Nyanza - Lake Kabonga, in Nyanza-lac commune, Makamba province. They plundered all the goods that were in the vehicle.

Three days after, another ambush took place in Rubindi in the zone of Mukungu in commune of Nyanza - Lac by a group of six persons armed with rifles and grenades and which were in military uniforms. They shot at the driver who died away and two other persons were seriously wounded. They then stole money, mobile telephones and other goods.

The perpetrators of the crime were not identified but the investigations continue. They suspect that the criminals live in the Swahili district of Makamba and a weapon search was organized onTuesday June 19th , 2007 in this district to seek weapons held illegally by the population.
