A teacher of the primary school of Karongwe in the zone of Gitaba, in the commune and province of Makamba was beaten by some parents of the pupils on June 13th , 2007. His colleagues were shocked and they directly started unlimited strike to protest against this humiliation of their colleague. Some of the first attackers were Ndarurinze Frederic and Ntacombaye Isaac.

The reason for this aggression is that the teacher had punished some pupils who were disturbing the class and one of them run out crying and a parent who was around went to attack him. Other people who live near by the school came to join the first attacker, Ndaruzaniye Frederic.

The Provincial Teaching department sent some people on June 18th, 2007 to try to calm the teachers so that they resume work. The teachers say that they will not resume work if the attackers are not punished, specially: Kabura Elysium, Mertus, Mrs Budirigiza Seconde, Ndaruzaniye Frederic and Ntahombaye Isaac.
