Security situation keeps on worsening in the province of Bubanza where in some localities the population spend night outside of their homes. Repeated attacks followed with robberies and sometimes with murders are reported here and there.

In the commune of Rugazi, two persons have been killed in armed attack on september 4th, 2007. One was killed shot while the other was slaughtered.

In the commune of Bubanza, the population of Giko have fled their homes fearing night attacks. They have taken refuge in Bubanza centre.

In the commune of Musigati, the population has taken refuge in the parish of Musigati. The combatants of Palipehutu-Fnl wander around with picks around their hips.

Some of the deserters who were going to join others deserters who are in the urban district of Buterere postponed their journey following the attack of the 3rd of september 2007. They are for the moment in the commune of Mpanda. The population is panicking fearing that the Palipehutu-Fnl fighters may attack them one day.
