A young woman, Nishimwe Consolate, who lives at Kadende in the commune of Kabezi in Bujumbura- Rural province, was burnt with boiling water by another woman, Gudura of the same locality. The victim was accused of having stolen about 10.000 francs from another woman called Beatrice.

Gudura says to be a witch woman and says that she was able to identify the true robber among suspected persons. The suspected put their hands in boiling water and only the robber will have his hand burnt. For the present case there was only one suspected person.

The neighbors were shocked by such crime and condemned the two women for having cruelly burnt the victim for a sum of ten thousand francs. They were arrested but were soon released after having corrupted the police.
