On Wednesday afternoon, September 26th, 2007, at Gitaramuka in the commune of Ruhororo of the province of Ngozi, a policeman who was drunk, Emmanuel Nyandwi, shot at people wounding 3 of them. The victims were participating in a radio broadcast program, TUMARANE IRUNGU.

After the incident, the angry people disarmed the policeman and seriously beat him. He was then rushed to the hospital of Ngozi where he died in the same evening of Wednesday following his wounds.

The police have started investigations to found out among people who were there who may have beaten the policeman. One can also mention that the population of the place is not in good term with the police.
