On September 24th, 2007, Mrs Jacqueline Ntirampeba from the Kanyosha urban commune got her 10 months old baby back that Omer Ngendakumana had kidnapped on Tuesday the 11th of the same month. The baby was taken to the parents of the kidnapper in the commune of Muhuta, in Kayanza province Kayanza.

The father of the baby had to support the baby charges by paying two fifths of his salary and has also to pay hospital charges estimated to around BIf 50,000. The man decided to stole the baby to escape from these charges. The mother helped by ” Ligue Iteka”, undertook initiatives to search the baby.

The kidnapper has been arrested and was detained at the police. After having revealed where the baby was, the mother, helped by “LIGUE ITEKA” went to bring back her baby on the September 24th, 2007. The baby was given to her mother, the police and the administrative authorities witnessed the ceremonies.
