Two vehicles fall into an ambush in Kamuna in Rutana province.
Four armed men, in military uniforms ambushed 2 vehicles at Kamuna at 6km from the urban centre of Rutana on the road Rutana - Makamba on Monday, May 9, 2005 around 7:00
They first shot at these vehicles to stop them. Most of the passengers were tradesmen. They took from them all the money they had. The amount of stolen money is estimated to 20 million.
However, two of these gangsters have been caught by the police. The investigations revealed that these robbers were soldiers of the governmental army of the Kayogoro camp.
Let’s mention that most of ambushes take place on Mondays and Thursdays, days when the tradesmen go to Bujumbura to buy goods. We should also mention that more than 10 ambushes took place at that place in these last days.
