In spite of the cease-fire agreement between the belligerent parties, security remains disturbed in Bubanza province
On 28th May 2008 about 4 AM, two Palipehutu-Fnl fighters were killed by soldiers from a position being at the 3rd transversal in Gihanga commune in Bubanza province.
These fighters had headed accidentally or voluntary to a military position and this was considered as a military provocation. The same night, about 21, another person was wounded by bullet at Busongo in Gihanga commune by soldiers in patrol.
According to those soldiers, they were followed and watched by two persons what worried them. The youth recruitment in Palipehutu-Fnl was in these days reported in Rukoko forest in Gihanga commune. According to military sources, more than a hundred young people from Cibitoke, Bubanza and rural Bujumbura enlisted in that movement were arrested by the police.
Let us then mention that from in the night of May, 29th 2008, a person was murdered following a grenade explosion at home in Rugazi commune by unidentified persons.
