On Saturday June 28th, 2008, Mpozenzi alias Kabebe, a 26 old young person was murdered in Nyabikere commune, Karusi province. The suspected perpetrator is a policeman called Pascal Hakizimana currently detained at the Karusi police custody.

The family of the victim as well as his neighbours accused the administrator of the same commune of being involved in this murder after bickering with the victim about the matter of the management of a kiosk.

On Sunday June 29th 2008, the victim’s corpse was brought in front of the administrator’s office untill 17 hours to show their anger. The policemen have then organized the evacuation of the corpse as well as its burial. The angry population claimed for killing the administrator and prevented people from going to the market that Sunday. On Sunday, the administrator remained in an unknown place and went back on Monday morning June 30th, 2008 under a tight police protection.
