On October 1st 08 early in the morning about 3 PM, Bernard Wakana and his wife Celine Bigirimana were killed with a grenade which was exploded by unidentified persons on Nyagasebeyi locality in Musenyi zone, Tangara commune of Ngozi province. The grenade was launched in the bedroom. An one year and half old baby who was sleeping with his parents was miraculously saved. The reason behind that crime was probably a land conflict opposing Bernard Wakana to one of his neighbours.

Four persons suspected for having committed the crime are already arrested and are detained at Tangara police custody. The police investigations are going on.

Let’s mention that criminality has become a daily worry in Ngozi province. On September 28 to 29th 08 around 8 PM, Deo Ndikumana, a soldier of Ngozi in Marangara camp was shot dead in a bar of Kigarama quarter in Ngozi town centre. On October 1st to 2nd 08 around 8 PM in the same quarter, Georges was shot dead by the police in patrol. The victim is accused to be one of the people who steal and kill in Ngozi town centre.
