The Chief of Rutwenzi Sector, Burambi commune in Bururi province, Baragendereza Elie, has been tortured by soldiers of the Rutwenzi position on 31 July 2005 because he had not done enough to urge the population of his sector to bring them water and wood for fire.

Fetching water and bringing wood for fire to soldiers at their position was at first voluntary, but has become now obligatory, which revolts now the population.

This chief of Rutwenzi sector had been retained at the military position for a few hours where he underwent some torture.

He had been seriously beaten and has got his arms swollen up. He has already reported his case to the military authorities of the place. Nzo.F.
