On the International Day of Peace, the governor of the province of Kayanza, Hatungimana Venant, assisted by the delegates of the ONUB and the civil servants of the town centre of the province of Kayanza have made a march which led them to the monument of independence.

During these ceremonies commemorating the international Day of Peace, the governor of Kayanza planted a symbolic tree close to the monument of independence. This tree is the symbol of peace, said the governor. Nevertheless he did not forget to point out that there is still some Fnl combatants who are still in the Kibira forest especially with in the neighbouring areas of the communes of Matongo, Muruta and Kabarore
