Secondary students of Mukenke College and Teaching Training college of Budahunga in Bwambarangwe commune, Kirundo province, went on strike on September 28, 2005 to denounce the phenomenon of corruption which has became current in these two schools.

Some corrupted teachers of these schools ask money from the students and others have sexual intercourse with their pupils with promises of helping them to succeed their studies regardless their marks.

The director of the Budahunga College and 12 professors are involved in this kind of corruption.

Other cases of rape were reported and these crimes were recognized by their perpetrators but nothing has been done to punish them.
